During his Thursday afternoon visit, Chancellor Merz had the opportunity to witness a series of product demonstrations, which showcased various robotic capabilities, including a remarkable martial arts performance by a robot known as 'WuBot' and engaging robot battles.
The founder of Unitree Robotics, Wang Xingxing, took the opportunity to introduce the innovative products of the company to Chancellor Merz. Observers noted that Merz actively interacted with the technology, even picking up a robot component for a closer examination.
Unitree Robotics stands as one of the leading players in the rapidly evolving Chinese robotics sector. Notably, this visit marked the second stop in Chancellor Merz's itinerary, following his initial engagement in Beijing.
In an interview conducted after the visit, Wang Xingxing expressed his deep honor at hosting the German Chancellor. He highlighted the significance of this visit as a pivotal moment for fostering deeper collaborations with German businesses, aiming for shared advancements in the intelligent robotics industry.
Wang further emphasized the lucrative potential of the German market, suggesting that the strong development trends in intelligent robotics and artificial intelligence would not only benefit the industry but also contribute positively to society at large.
Accompanying Chancellor Merz was a substantial delegation of German business representatives, reflecting Germany's commitment to elevating practical cooperation with China. Reports from Xinhua News Agency indicated that approximately 30 senior executives from various sectors, including automotive, chemicals, biopharma, machinery manufacturing, and the circular economy, were part of this significant diplomatic mission.
