China Leads in Humanoid Robot Patents Says Foreign Minister

China is leading the way in humanoid robot patent filings, a development that is not only bolstering its economy but also contributing significantly to global recovery efforts, as asserted by a Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
In a recent response to inquiries regarding Morgan Stanley's Humanoid Robot Almanac, which highlights China's dominance in this field over the past five years, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that by 2025, 'Chinese innovation' would become a universally recognized term. He noted that China has entered the top 10 in global innovation rankings for the first time, maintaining a leadership position in vital innovation sectors for three successive years.
Lin highlighted that these advancements span a wide array of technologies, showcasing significant progress from extensive AI applications to the seamless integration of artificial intelligence with robotics.
He articulated that innovation has played a crucial role in sustaining China's economic growth while simultaneously facilitating global recovery and enhancing living standards across the globe. Chinese technological advancements, which include high-speed rail systems and smart port solutions, as well as the BeiDou navigation system benefiting over 140 countries, are pivotal in upgrading infrastructure and addressing challenges in disaster management, transportation, and agriculture.
Moreover, Lin pointed out that China's international collaborations with countries like Brazil, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have been instrumental in promoting clean energy access, fighting desertification, and addressing critical issues of water scarcity and food security.
The Central Economic Work Conference underscored the importance of fostering innovation-driven development and rapidly cultivating new growth drivers. Lin stated that China will perpetuate its focus on technological innovation and reinforce scientific and technological partnerships globally.
He reaffirmed that these initiatives are expected to yield more global public goods and contribute significantly to technological and economic advancement on a worldwide scale.
