Foreign Ministry Praises Putin's Visa-Free Entry for Chinese

China's Foreign Ministry has expressed its approval of Russia's recent decision to allow visa-free entry for Chinese citizens, describing this development as a significant advancement for cultural exchanges between the two nations.
During a regular press briefing on December 2, spokesperson Lin Jian responded to a question regarding this policy change. On December 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree enabling this visa-free travel arrangement, which includes purposes such as tourism, business visits, scientific and cultural exchanges, and participation in sporting events.
"This is indeed good news," Lin stated, highlighting that the mutual visa exemption symbolizes the strengthening ties between the Chinese and Russian governments, as well as their respective peoples."
Lin further mentioned, "I believe this will greatly enhance the friendship between our two peoples while promoting exchanges and cooperation across various sectors."
The spokesperson encouraged the citizens of both countries to take advantage of the new visa-free opportunities, inviting more Russian travelers to explore China and expressing hope that Chinese nationals will embark on memorable journeys to Russia.
This policy initiative comes in a context where heightened diplomatic relations are of mutual importance, and it reflects a growing trend of increased connectivity between China and Russia.
Through this initiative, both nations aim to foster deeper cultural understanding and promote tourism, which is expected to further solidify their strategic partnership.
As travel restrictions continue to ease globally, such measures potentially boost not only tourism but also bilateral economic growth and collaboration in various fields.
