Chinese Minister Urges USCBC to Collaborate for Stable Ties

China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao recently met with a delegation led by Rajesh Subramaniam, chair of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), in Beijing. During this meeting, he emphasized the importance of collaboration to achieve stable economic relations between China and the United States.

Minister Wang pointed out that the resilience of China-US economic and trade ties has been proven over time. He argued that attempts at decoupling or disrupting supply chains would not yield positive results, asserting that open dialogue and mutual consultation are essential for resolving any existing differences.

Under the leadership of both nations' heads of state, significant progress has been made with the establishment of the Geneva consensus and the London framework. Wang highlighted that recent trade discussions held in Stockholm between the economic teams of China and the US aimed at fostering the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of bilateral trade.

Wang reiterated China's commitment to opening up its economy further, stating that this fundamental national policy will continue to expand with time. He affirmed that China's approach to foreign investment remains unchanged.

With its consumer market recognized as one of the largest globally, China offers immense growth potential and innovation. Minister Wang extended an invitation to businesses from all nations, including those from the US, to invest in China and participate in the enriching development opportunities available.

Rajesh Subramaniam expressed the USCBC's satisfaction with the ongoing dialogue between the economic and trade teams of both governments, noting the positive outcomes of these discussions. He remarked that China has conveyed a strong signal to the global market, demonstrating its commitment to deepening reforms and maintaining an open economy.

Subramaniam emphasized that the USCBC and its members remain dedicated to fostering long-term growth in China and are determined to play a constructive role in enhancing economic and trade collaboration between the United States and China.
