Legoland Shanghai Resort has officially marked a significant milestone by announcing that the project is ready for operation, entering its final stage of preopening ahead of the much-anticipated grand opening scheduled for July 5. This announcement comes after almost 1,300 days of extensive construction, which began in 2021.

During the handover ceremony held on Monday, a notable event occurred when the project team presented a giant Lego brick-built key to the operations team. This symbolic gesture represents the transition from the construction phase to trial operations, and was particularly meaningful as it was passed to the park’s kid reporters.

The construction project, which involved approximately 300 teams from 15 countries and over 10,000 workers, spans an impressive 318,000 square meters in Shanghai's Jinshan district. This international collaboration showcases not only the effort put in by diverse teams but also the commitment to building a world-class resort.

The Legoland Shanghai Resort will feature eight immersive themed lands, boasting over 75 interactive rides, shows, and attractions. Notably, the resort incorporates more than 85 million Lego bricks, setting the stage for a unique experience that aligns with the iconic brand's playful spirit.

Among the key attractions are the Big Lego Coaster, which includes towering Lego minifigure sculptures, and the 60-meter Legoland Observation Tower, designed to offer visitors breathtaking panoramic views. These features are expected to draw significant interest from both local and international tourists.

Chen Jie, the general manager of the resort, expressed eagerness and enthusiasm about the impending opening. "We are filled with enthusiasm and excitement to jointly witness this milestone moment of Legoland Shanghai Resort," he stated. He emphasized the resort’s goal of providing guests with an environment filled with surprise and creativity, marking the start of a marvelous journey.
