China Unveils Largest, Most Efficient Gas Turbine Launch

China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) announced on Friday that it has successfully hoisted the largest and most efficient gas turbine into position at the Anji power plant located in Zhejiang Province. This milestone marks a significant advance in the project's timeline.

With the turbine now installed, the project has entered the installation phase, which is critical for preparing the turbine for its future power generation capabilities.

The Anji power plant is set to leverage the most advanced gas turbine technology available globally, boasting an impressive maximum efficiency of 64.15 percent. This reflects ongoing efforts to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

The facility is expected to begin operations by the end of 2025. Once both turbines are operational, the Anji power plant will achieve a maximum annual power generation capacity of 7 billion kilowatt-hours.

This significant output is projected to satisfy the annual electricity needs of approximately 6 million residents, highlighting the plant's role in supporting regional energy demands.

Moreover, the project aims to make a substantial environmental impact by saving around 670,000 metric tons of standard coal each year, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions.
