ABIDJAN -- A special China Day event was held on Saturday at the 7th Abidjan International Agriculture and Animal Resources Exhibition, highlighting the fruitful cooperation between China and Cote d'Ivoire. This occasion marks an important milestone for both nations as they enhance their agricultural ties and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

During the event, Ivorian Minister of State and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani addressed attendees, emphasizing China's remarkable transformation over the past few decades. He pointed out that the nation's advancements in agricultural and agro-industrial development serve as a model for many countries, including Cote d'Ivoire.

Minister Adjoumani expressed Cote d'Ivoire's pride in hosting China, which he stated underscores the strong friendship and deep cooperation between the two nations. The minister highlighted the importance of these bilateral relations in fostering sustainable agricultural growth in his country.

He also underscored the commitment to enhancing the modernization of Cote d'Ivoire's agriculture through Chinese technologies and expertise. The minister's remarks emphasized the need for ongoing agricultural partnerships, focusing on key areas such as technical training, resource sharing, and supply chain integration.

The Chinese Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire, Wu Jie, also delivered remarks at the event, stating that China's role as the guest of honor at the fair reflects the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. He noted the promising prospects for high-quality agricultural cooperation, which is expected to yield significant benefits for both parties.

A notable outcome of the event was the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding and agricultural cooperation framework agreements between the two sides. These agreements are intended to solidify the collaborative efforts aimed at advancing agricultural practices and technologies in Cote d'Ivoire.
